Movie Review : Thaka Thimi Tha

Production: Raveendhra
Direction: Sundar C
Cast: Yuvakrishna, Vivek, Ankitha, Tejaswi, M S Viswanathan, Paravai Muniamma, Rajeev, Nirosha, Shakeela

Sundar C aim is again for your funny bone. His flair for comedy makes him a distinguishable comedy films director. The film resembles Kushi in regard of the twists and turns in the storyline. This is a love story where the couples get separated due to some odds and reunite again after a twisting and turning roller coaster ride. Selva Bharathy’s dialogues and Vivek’s performance enamor the film.

Krishna (Yuva Krishna) takes up a job in a restaurant, which belongs to his friend Vivek (Vivek). Krishna’s parents, who stay in some other place, come to Chennai and rent a house. Here they come across Gayathri (Ankitha) the daughter of the house-owner and a radio jockey. The families plan their child’s marriage. But Krishna and Gayathri don’t give consent to it. The parents find out from Vivek that the duo have been in love with each other some time before. This undoubtedly stuns them. But they get more astonished learning that they have split over a trivial issue.

In a flashback Vivek narrates the tale of love between the two lovers when they were in college. He was running the college canteen there when the whole episode took place. After funny twists and turns atlast the lovers reconcile.

Vivek garlands the film with his brief but impressive role. Everything falls into place due to him. His comic sense and timing is spirited. Yuva Krishna holds good looks but poor acting skills. He needs to sharpen his talent if he wishes to float in this industry. Ankitha is good enough and does her job well with verve. Tejashree is a glam thing more than anything else.

Imman’s music is not happening and does little to make the film go a step further. Some peppy tracks may go to some finders. Sundar C with his comedy does a good job though more sparkle would have been the added benefit.
