S.A.Chandrasekhar has always blamed the law and order loopholes that give rise to the anti social elements in the society and disrupt peace. So far he has proven successful with such films and have always failed trying to change his territory. He takes on with his favourite theme in Sukran. It is after a short break he is again back into films.
Ravi Shankar (Ravi Krishna) and Sandhya (Nadheesha) study in the same college and are in love with each other. Sandhya’s stepmother (Nalini) is the head of village panchayat and wishes to get Sandhya married to her brother. When she learns about the affair, she tries every possible mean to separate them. Its Ravi Shankar’s father (Nazar) who helps the two elope to Chennai. Nalini gets him murdered for his act.
But Chennai has something more dreaded in store for these lovers. Sreeman a dishonest and corrupt police officer takes Ravi Shankar into custody on the allegations of killing his own father based on the complaint by Nalini. Ravi gets jailed. Sandhya rushes to Judge (Rajan P Dev) to get a bail for Ravi Shankar. But on reaching there the judge and minister’s son Tamizh Kumaran gang rape her and film the act. When the couples meet, they decide to commit suicide depending on whatever has happened to them. This is when their path cross Sukkran (Vijay) who give them strength morally and provides them the reason to live.

Fate again brings them curse as Sandhya gets accused of prostitution and arrested. Ravi unable to bail her shoots the inspector, the judge and the Ministers’s son who have raped her. Sukkran again comes across with the intention to help them. He pulls out Ravi from the allegations by forwarding enough evidence for him. He also kills the Minister (Vijayan) who has supported the wrong.
Ravi Krishna and Nadheesha love story is touching. Their romance is sweet. Even the relationship of father and son is in good vein though a bit overdone. The villains with their acts encompass loathing. Vijay with his good lines uplift the film. Rambha and Ragasiya’s item number are aimed at the masses.
Ravi Krishna is good in bits and pieces. As a romantic and dancing hero he suits the frame though falters in emotional content. Within the given terrain he has done an impressive work. Nadheesha is fine and her lively character spark up the screen. Nazar does a fine job in the brief role. But Vijay as a criminal lawyer steals the show. His dialogues and action grace the film. His fans are going to cheer him for that.
Though it’s a love story yet the treatment is very different. Director Chandrasekhar again aims the law and judiciary through the film. There is pace and grip to engross the audience. Dialogues on a bit lighter tone would have been fine. The music of Vijay Antony is another substantial factor of the film.
