Remake king M.Raja has come out victorious yet again with
‘Something Something Unakkum Enakkum’, a Tamil remake of Telugu
blockbuster ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana’. This feel-good family
entertainer has good works from cinematographer A.Venkatesh and
music director Devi Sri
Prasad. Above all, lead pair Jayam Ravi and Trisha’s performance
has sparked up the screens. In the film, Muthupandi( Prabhu)
is a hard working man and son of the soil. He brings up his
sister Kavitha (Trisha) with lots of love and care after the
death of his mother. Lalitha (Richa Pallod), Kavi’s best friend
takes her to her house for her pre-marriage celebrations. Here,
Kavi comes to know a carefree guy by name Santhosh (Ravi), who
is the son of millionaire NRIs (Bhagyaraj and Geeta) from
London. Santhosh and Kavi are just the opposite when it comes to
family background yet they fall in love.

Now, Santhosh’s sophisticated mother wants him to marry another
girl (Tejasree) and sought the help of her father for the same.
Santhosh gets scot-free of her dominating mother and comes to
his love Kavi’s village and asks Muthu to give his sister’s
hand. Muthu hates rich people, and so, he sets a condition to
drive this happy-go-lucky away. However, Santhosh takes up the
chalenge with purpose and wins the hearts of the people in the
village besides gathering better harvest than Muthu.
Ravi is perfect as a young and energetic man. His dialogues,
facial expressions and body language are superb. Trisha is
wonderful with her innocent looks and her charming smile pierces
through the heart. Their onscreen chemistry and the way they get
along with each other is incredible. Prabhu is good as a loving
brother and the performance of supporting actors like Bhagyaraj,
Richa Pallod and Geeta is commendable. The film would have been
even better if its length, especially the climax scene is
trimmed a bit.
In a nutshell, it is a complete entertainer and film lovers
should not miss it. |
